What do you think our world needs most?
I’ve been thinking about this question all day. The more I ponder, the more the word “hope” keeps rising up within my mind.
I think when we have hope that is founded in an infinite place of eternity not bound by time or circumstance, we are empowered to take steps in our life towards recognizing a dream within our heart that we may not even know is there unless we have the hope that what is seemingly impossible, is possible, and that we can play a big part in seeing that dream become a reality.
Hope is a necessary ingredient for goodness to grow. Hope will help us overcome the areas of our life where fear wants to deflate our expectation that things can and will get better.
And we have the opportunity to spread hope to one another each and every day. Sometimes hope can be as simple as a smile, a kind word or a $5 bill to someone asking for “spare change” on the street. Or sometimes hope can look like bringing access to clean water to an entire village.
Hope can take so many forms, and my hope is that I am aware of every opportunity every day where I might play some part in sharing greater hope with others.
What word comes to mind when you hear the question “What does our world need most?”
